In 2016, Rose Quartz was a quite a popular colour. It was seen everywhere & personally it is now my favourite colour. It looks so feminine, young and yet at the same time it’s subtle. I love all the different shades & how this colour has captured Instagram feeds all over the world.
I recently bought this oh so cosy looking sweater from Sinsay & I thought that I should style it for a nice night out outfit.
Being a plus size woman, one of the major challenges is finding something that suits me and pencil skirts are not a quintessential choice. As a common notion, a-line or flare skirts are the more popular with this segment of women. And I can understand why it is so. It hides that tummy nicely. But I’m not a huge fan of these skirts. I’m all about pencil skirts. They accentuate the figure, and look more chic than an a-line skirt. And my favourite is this black lace pencil skirt I bought form Forever 21 years ago. It fits me so perfectly & makes me look great.
Black & rose quartz complement each other perfectly. And the knit & the lace make a nice contrast in textures. Since both the textures are generally thought of as feminine textures, this adds a new chic dimension to the outfit.
I decided to tuck the sweater into the skirt but not completely. Leaving a little bit of it outside the skirt makes the sweater look longer. Tucking it in is a great way to accentuate those curves. If you want you can leave it out but I personally like it when it’s inside the skirt.
Because there were two different textures in the outfit, adding some heavy jewellery piece would take the charm away from the outfit. So keeping things minimal, I added a nice white floral statement piece. Not only did it complement the outfit, it also helped balance the colours in the outfit.
I finished the outfit with some classic black pumps, classic white watch and a nice small black sling bag. Straight hair with a nice cat eye & bold lips completed the entire look.
